‘ROCKET’ ROB SUMMERS READY TO LAUNCH WITH BUSY
2007 RACING SCHEDULE

‘Rocket’ Rob Summers of Manchester, Connecticut has laid out a daunting 2007 racing schedule that will see the talented driver compete in two of the most competitive series racing throughout the Northeast. Summers will tackle the International Super Modified Association schedule while driving a Brian Allegresso creation for car owner Howie Lane and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour in Guy Ronzoni’s TG Racing Chevrolet.
“We’ll be busy this season,” explained Summers. “Driving for Howie and Guy in two great series provides me an excellent opportunity to succeed on the track. Looking ahead, we have the potential to have one great season in two different divisions. I’m thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to drive two great cars and I honestly can’t wait to get going.”
Summers will have his first weekend behind the wheel at the Thompson International Speedway when the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour series swings into action. Summers will be looking to score his first career victory in the NASCAR Tour at the Icebreaker 150-lap event.
“Guy Ronzoni and all of the guys have been working hard and I love racing at Thompson,” offered Summers. “The Icebreaker is a great way to get started. If the effort of the guys back at the shop is any indication, then we should be able to have a great run at Thompson.”
Summers will have to wait until late May to strap into his ISMA SuperModified at the 1/3-mile Waterford Speedbowl, where Summers has already conquered the SK Modified division by winning the 2005 track championship and last year, Summers nearly took home the ISMA hardware.
“The Supers are so much fun to drive,” states Summers. “They are full out from the drop of the green. No holding back, no saving anything, just stand on the gas and get after it. That’s my kind of racing. Hopefully, we can start the ISMA season off on the right foot with a win at Waterford and keep it going from there.”
By the end of the season, Summers will have competed in nearly 40 major events throughout the Northeast corridor of North America, traversing from Maine to Michigan, as far South as North Carolina and into Ontario, Canada. In addition to this slate of competition, Summers will compete from time-to-time in his SK Modified at Waterford . It’s a full plate for any racer but Rob Summers is more then up to the task and will be looking for his brightest season ever.
