MARQUIS
TEAMS WITH JOE BRADY IN 2007
Jerry Marquis, one of the most consistent drivers in the history of
the NASCAR Whelen modified tour and car owner, Joe Brady are teaming
up for an all out assault for the 2007 NASCAR Whelen modified tour
title.
Marquis, who was released from his ride in the Bob Garbarino Mystic
Missile, has worked since January to get a deal done for the 2007
season and teaming with the legendary Brady put a smile on Marquis
face after signing the deal.
I am really looking forward to working with Joe this season. I
have been working hard to get
something done but teaming with Joe and the Brandy Bunch 00 is
something I am excited about. Marquis said this week. Were going
to make this work. I look at the success that Joe has had with Ted
Christopher and Tommy Cravenho and I hope to duplicate that.
Joe Brady was equally excited about the prospects of joining forces
with Marquis and running the entire modified tour. I just think
this is a great opportunity to team with a driver like Jerry and the
experience that he brings to the team.
Brady, who has fielded cars since 1960 and modifieds since 1968 has
had such drivers wheel the 00 that include old timers Leo Cleary,
Bugs Stevens, Bobby Santos and Dick Trickle to more recently Steve
Park, Ted Christopher, Bobby Santos III and Rick Fuller.
Marquis credentials on the modified tour are quite impressive. He
was the 2000 NASCAR Whelen modified tour champion and in 188 starts,
has 19 career wins, 73 top fives and 109 top tens and has won over
$623,000.
Marquis also has won 6 modified track championships, 6 Pro stocks
track titles and 4 late models track championships in his 30-year
racing career. Marquis also has captured the NASCAR Whelen All
American Series regional championship twice.
Reynolds Auto Wrecking of E. Taunton, MA will be one of the
sponsors that Marquis and Brady will carry on the famous #00.
Both Marquis and Brady acknowledge that the modified tour is one of
the most competitive series in racing but also know that teamed with
years of driving experience and mechanical know how, that they can
contend for the Whelen modified tour title.
The 2007 NASCAR modified tour season kicks off on Saturday and
Sunday, April 14th and 15th at the Thompson International Speedway.
