TURKEY DERBY XXXIV
SURE TO MAKE RACING HISTORY
Stellar Fields and Large Crowd
Expected
Jamie "The Jet" Tomaino will be
teaming up with Martinelli Motorsports
for this years season ending Turkey Derby XXXIV. That will be just one
of the exciting things you will get to see this weekend at Wall Township
Speedway in Wall, N.J. starting at 8am Friday the 23rd. Longtime
friends, Tomaino and car owner Joe Martinelli are teaming up for this
one race deal to take home the coveted title. Jamie will be
driving
one of the Martinelli Motorsports stables 3 powerful #22 modifieds,
normally driven by Zane Zeiner on the ROC Tour and winner of the 2007
Mountain Speedway Track Championship. Zane will not be competing this
year at Turkey Derby.
1990 NASCAR Modified National Champion Tomaino has 2 wins in
the Turkey Derby, 1975 in Sportsman, and 1981 in Modifieds. Jamie also
has 10 top 5 finishes in the 23 Turkey Derbies he has entered since
1974, 3 in the last 4 TD events. "The Jet"
as he has been known for years, also finished 9th in
this
seasons NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Points Standings. The combo of
Tomaino and Martinelli are expected to be strong competition for the
rest of the Open Tour Type Modifieds in Saturday's 100 lap event
Modified standouts expected are Reggie Ruggiero in the Dick
Barney 14, Wall ROC winner Kenny Wooley
in the 15A, recent John Blewett III Memorial North South Shootout winner
Matt
Hirschman in his own 60, Billy Pauch Jr. in the Greenfield
Dodge 06 will be doing double duty running the Modified 100 Saturday and
TQ's on Friday. Other entries include Danny and Mike Bohn, Tommy Farrell
III, TVMRS's Bobby Grigas, 2007 ROC Champion
Pete Brittain, 2007 Bowman Gray Track Champion Burt Myers,
Jimmy Blewett in the final race for the Blewett # 76, last year's 2nd
place finishing
crowd pleaser Les Hinckley, Rowan Pennink
and newlywed Tony Ferrante Jr.,
among many others.
The Wall/SK/B/SST Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsman, RMP
Modified Affordable Division, INEX Legends, Value Towing Factory Stocks,
and Brice's NAPA/Keenan Motors ATQMRA TQ's will also be in competition.
Turkey Derby XXXIV at Wall Township Speedway is this Friday,
November 23rd, and Saturday, November 24th with 8 racing divisions in
competition over the two day event. A two-day ticket offer has been
extended due to overwhelming demand from the fans. Combo Two Day Tickets
good for both Friday and Saturday are just $35 dollars for an adult, $10
dollars for children 12 and under! Spectator gates open at 8am each day.
Friday Only Adult tickets are $20 dollars each, Children 12 and under $6
dollars. Saturday Only Adult tickets are $25 each, children 12 and under
$6. Children 5 and under are always admitted free.
