DELANGE RACING ANNOUNCES 2008 SCHEDULE
Team owner Dave DeLange of Lockport, New York has unveiled the 2008
schedule of races for DeLange Racing. The aggressive program will
include 22 dates and 31 races. The team, led by accomplished teenage
driver Erick Rudolph of Ransomville, will travel to ten different tracks
across five states and compete in three major Modified series along the
east coast as well as eight weekly racing events in Western New York.
The former Lancaster Raceway Park, now under new management
and renamed Dunn Tire Raceway Park, will remain the home base for
DeLange Racing. The team will visit the Lancaster, New York speedway
eight times in 2008. The track is celebrating its 50th season of racing
this year and the DeLange squad will help commemorate the occasion at
the official Anniversary program on June 28.
The team will begin the year on March 22 with a trip to
renowned Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, North Carolina for a 150-lap
NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event. It will be the first-ever
NASCAR Touring race for both Rudolph and the DeLange group. The team
will then head back north to visit two famed Connecticut racetracks for
the first time; Thompson International Speedway and Stafford Motor
Speedway. These visits will mark the team’s initial venture on the
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The team will also compete in NASCAR Tour
races at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, New York, Chemung Speedrome in
Chemung, New York, Mansfield Motorsports Park in Mansfield, Ohio, and
New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire during the
season.
The team will also race in seven events on the Race of
Champions Asphalt Modified Tour in 2008. Highlighting these seven races
will be the 58th Annual Sunoco Race of Champions at Oswego Speedway on
September 19-20 along with the 20th Annual US Open at Dunn Tire Raceway
Park on September 27-28.
“I’m very excited about our race schedule for 2008,” proclaim
Dave DeLange. “We’re very happy to have Dunn Tire Raceway Park as a
major part of our schedule once again. The Buffalo area is home for our
team and many of our fans as well as our fine sponsors; Original Pizza
Logs, PrimeTyme Motorsports and Brigham Concrete. We are also looking
forward to returning to the Race of Champions Tour this season. It is a
very competitive series and we look forward to meeting the challenge it
will present to us.
“I’m really enthused about competing on the NASCAR Whelen
Modified Tours for the first time,” continued DeLange. “The NASCAR teams
represent the best in Modified racing. I’m looking forward to racing on
such historic tracks as Caraway, Stafford, Thompson and Loudon, as well
as my first-ever visit to Mansfield. Racing on the NASCAR Tours has long
been a dream of mine and this season I’ll finally be able to make it
happen. I can’t wait to get started.”
