RUDOLPH TO COMPETE IN NORTH-SOUTH SHOOTOUT
One final event remains on the 2008 schedule for Erick Rudolph of
Ransomville and the DeLange Racing crew. The team will be headed
south to Concord Motorsport Park in Concord, North Carolina, to
compete in the Sixth Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South
Shootout. This premier contest honors the memory of John Blewett
III. The Howell, New Jersey third generation racer lost his life in
a racing accident while competing in a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
race at Thompson International Speedway in Connecticut on August 16,
2007. The Concord event attracts a stellar field of racers in
several divisions, highlighted by the 100-lap Shootout for the
NASCAR-type Modifieds.
Rudolph will be making his third appearance at the North-South
Shootout with the DeLange team. In 2006 he raced the #12 SST
Sportsman and gained some important knowledge in his first race on
the unique "World's Fastest Half-Mile Tri-Oval." In 2007 he returned
with the #45 Original Pizza Logs/PrimeTyme Motorsports/Brigham
Concrete Modified and put that education to work, finishing a very
respectable sixth. He returns with the Modified this year and looks
to continue his progress at Concord.
"We ran this race the last two years and we did pretty well,"
recalls Rudolph. "In 2006 we raced the SST and gained some valuable
experience. Last year in the Modified we qualified in the top-five
and ran a strong race. Concord Motorsport Park is one of my favorite
tracks. I always look forward to racing there. This will be my third
Shootout and hopefully we'll get another good finish. I think we
have the experience we need to be a contender."
The Sixth Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout
closes out a remarkable season of success for the DeLange Racing
team. Preparations are already underway for 2009. Details on our
plans for next season will be announced in the coming weeks.
