MONADNOCK BRINGS BACK THE MODIFIEDS

Monadnock Speedway has announced that they will bring back the modifieds in 2009. The track held a meeting back on October 30th. The meeting show a lot of interest in the division and the competitors interest were strong. The banquet for Monadnock was held this past Friday (November 21st). Michelle Cloutier general manager of the speedway talked about the modified division for 2009. A total of 45 teams are interested in this division. The interest is from all over the region.
The rules will mix with touring divisions, SK Modifieds, and other tracks that have modifieds as a weekly division. For Monadnock, the mods will not be an every week division. They will alternate with the Outlaw Pros. It should amount to ten races for the modifieds. The late models will no longer be part of the program at the track. The features will be 50 laps. If there are enough cars over the course of the season, a 100 lap Triple Crown event would be considered. A brand tire has not been named for the track. One of the rules that was considered was the purchase of two tires per race.
Another meeting will be held in the near future to discuss the rules and the brand of the tire. The track will still have the True Value Modifieds for two races in 2009. The dates will be April 25th and July 4th.
If anyone has questions on the modified division should call the speedway office at (603) 239-4067 or reach via e-mail at speedway@webryders.com.
