THUNDERSHOWERS AND HEAVY RAIN POSTPONE RACE OF CHAMPIONS DART ASPHALT MODIFIED TOUR EVENT AT DUNN TIRE UNTIL AUGUST 9TH

Early morning thundershowers that featured heavy rain and dangerous lightning on Saturday morning in the Lancaster, NY area was enough to force officials at Dunn Tire Motorsports Park to postpone their highly anticipated 50th Anniversary Show until Saturday August 9th.
“ It’s shame that the show had to be postponed “ stated RoC Administrative Director Andrew Harpell. “ Because the entire staff at Dunn Tire really worked overtime in getting everything set for this very special show. But it’s the sign of the times unfortunately in racing today with high traveling costs due to the cost of fuel. We already had one situation earlier this month when Wyoming County rained out and everyone towed there and spent huge sums of money traveling. In this situation Dunn Tire management made the decision early enough in the day to save some of the teams money. “
The next show on the Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour is a Saturday July 19th race at the Oswego Speedway. That will be followed up by a show at the Mahoning Valley Speedway on Saturday July 26th.
