TIME RUNNING OUT FOR MOST POPULAR DRIVER AWARDS VOTING

   Since July 7, more than 170,000 fans have cast votes for Most Popular Driver in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and each of NASCAR’s six regional touring series.
   That number represents tremendous participation in this first-ever opportunity for fans. But they can continue to cast on-line ballots for their favorite driver once per day until voting ends.
   Fans can visit www.nascar.com and vote for their favorite driver for the Most Popular Driver of the Year Award in two of NASCAR’s national series.
   In addition, www.nascarhometracks.com is hosting the balloting for each of NASCAR’s regional touring series – the NASCAR Camping World Series East and West, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, NASCAR Mexico Series, and NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio.
   Various track and team/driver web sites throughout NASCAR also carry links so that fans may vote.
   The month of September already signals the countdown to the end of voting in some of the regional series. Balloting ends Sept. 27 for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and Sept. 28 for NASCAR Camping World Series East.
   Fans have until Oct. 4 to vote for their favorite drivers in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, Oct. 18 for NASCAR Camping World Series West, Oct. 19 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, and Oct. 26 for the NASCAR Mexico Series.
   Voting for the Most Popular Driver in NASCAR Nationwide and NASCAR Craftsman Truck is open until Oct. 31.
   Results of the balloting will be announced at each of the respective series banquets at the end of the season.
