MATT HIRSCHMAN SWEEPS;
Wins Pole, Heat; Hossfeld Takes Second Heat

   Matt Hirschman won his third career Coors Light Pole Award and then earned the right to start the Chemung 120 on the pole by winning the first 25-lap heat race. Chuck Hossfeld will start on the outside of the front row by virtue of winning the second 25-lap heat race.
   Hirschman (No. 59 Ed Bennett Properties Chevrolet) qualified on the .375-mile oval at 14.155 mph for an average speed of 94.101. He edged Jimmy Blewett (No. 19 United Crane/Ling Trucking Chevrolet) and Eric Beers (No. 46 Reynold's Auto Wrecking/Sunoco Chevrolet) for the pole. Blewett qualified at 14.164 (94.041) and Beers had a lap of 14.167 (94.021).
   In the first heat race, Hirschman beat runner-up Eric Beers by .229 seconds and third-place Kevin Goodale by .614.
   In the second heat race, Hossfeld won by .816 seconds over Blewett and 1.079 over Todd Szegedy.
   Points leader Ted Christopher qualified 16th and then finished 11th out of 12 cars in the second heat. He will start 22nd. Christopher leads Hirschman by 89 points.
   The green flag for the Chemung 120 is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
