RUDOLPH AND DELANGE RACING READY FOR NASCAR DEBUT

Erick Rudolph and the DeLange Racing team are in the final steps of preparation for their 2008 season opener. On Saturday, March 22 they will be heading south to Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, North Carolina for the first event on the 2008 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour schedule. This marks the NASCAR debut for both driver and team.
The #45 Original Pizza Logs/PrimeTyme Motorsports/Brigham Concrete Modified sits silently in the garage waiting to be rolled into the trailer for the trip to Caraway. Crew Chief Charlie Rudolph and the crew have been hard at work rebuilding the car during the off-season, including a brand new paint scheme. Charlie is a former driver on the NASCAR Modified Tour and his experience should prove invaluable to the DeLange team and their teenage driver.
Team owner Dave DeLange is very eager as his team approaches their first NASCAR race event. “I’m both excited and apprehensive as we enter the season and the new challenges we will be facing. I’m anticipating a great season ahead. We have good equipment that is well-prepared and our young driver is fully capable of doing some great things at this level. I think with a little luck on our side we will do very well this season.
“I’m really looking forward to fulfilling a dream of mine in 2008,” DeLange continues. “Modified racing is my sport and now we’re going to be competing at the top level. It is where I want to be. I’m enthused about the new opportunities that are ahead of us, especially racing against the best drivers and teams in the Modifieds. I’m ready to get going.”
The teenage driver from Ransomville, New York is also looking toward what lies ahead. “I can’t wait for the season to begin,” explains Rudolph. “We’ve been working hard all winter getting the car ready and now it’s finally time to go racing. We’ll be going to some of the top short tracks and competing against some of the best racers and I’m really looking forward to that challenge. Let’s go racing!”
Racing at Caraway on March 22 is set to begin with qualifying at 6 PM. For more information you can contact the Speedway at (336) 629-5803 or visit their website at www.carawayspeedway.com.
