L.W. ACES QUALIFYING

Not even two weeks of rain could douse L.W. Miller's hot streak.
The defending NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour champion won the season-opener March 22. And after two rain outs, he picked right back up Friday as he scored the Coors Light Pole Award for the Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150 presented by DMC Auto Exchange to be run later Friday evening.
Miller's time of 14.893 seconds (96.690 mph) around the .400-mile oval edged out George Brunnhoelzl (14.924/96.489) and Burt Myers (14.946/96.347). It is Miller's second career pole. His first came Oct. 21, 2006 at Southern National Raceway Park.
Miller will start third after a re-draw of the top six spots. Andy Seuss, who qualified fourth, redrew the top spot and Jason Myers will also start on the front row.
Two-time champion Junior Miller did not run in the event after unapproved parts were discovered on his car prior to qualifying, and he opted to load up his car and leave the track.
