“FROST BITE
MODIFIED WINTER NATIONALS” TICKET SALES BRISK
Special Reserved Seating
Including Pit Pass Available |
Tickets went on sale Saturday for the 1st Annual “Frost Bite Modified Winter
Nationals” slated for March 6 & 7 at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont,
NC. The event features open wheel “Tour Type” Modifieds sanctioned by the
American Speed Association (ASA). The feature event for the “Frost Bite” is
the “Josh Jenkins Memorial 125” for the Modifieds. Support races include the
Southern Vintage Modifieds, The East Coast Flat Head Fords and a special
event for a local division to be announced at a later date.
“We are offering special reserved seating for the season opener for
the Modifieds in the South”, said C & C Racing Promotions owner, Charles
Kepley. “We know this will be a special event and we want to make those top
rows available for those fans wanting the best seats in the house for some
exciting racing at the 3/8 mile Orange County Speedway. There will be three
commemorative tickets available for those seats featuring the likenesses of
“Josh” Jenkins, Ronnie Silk and Burt Myers”, Kepley said.
Jenkins was one of the founders of the SMART Modified Series and
was involved in the original North-South Shootout and a supporter of the
southern modifieds as a car owner. The C & C Racing Promotions show car
carries the #6 that was the “family” number for the Jenkins family well back
into the 60”s when it was driven by “Toots” Jenkins and later by Randy
Morrison and Tim Dwiggins. Silk pilots the famed #79 Hillbilly Racing
Modified owned by the Hill family from Westfield, NC and is a regular on the
Whelen Modified Tour. Myers drives the #1 “Dirty South” Modified owned by
Philip Smith. Myers won the "North-South Shootout" in November and is a
two-time ASA Southern Modified Champion.
Those top three row seats are available for only $40.00 if
purchased before February 25th and include a pit pass and are good for both
days of the event. Those tickets are $50.00 if purchased after the deadline.
Any reserved seating unsold will be available for $30.00 on race day only
and do not include the Pit Pass. Unreserved seating will be $20.00 for
Friday or Saturday. Ticket sales for the 1st Annual “Frost Bite Modified
Winter Nationals” are moving at a brisk pace so don’t miss this chance to
reserve the seat of your choice.
