COLORING AND POSTER CONTEST TO BE PART OF
SOUTHERN TIER SPEEDWORLD ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR

Once again this year at the 6th Annual Southern Tier
Speedworld presented by Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet and Country Town Auto
Service that takes place at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY from Friday
February 27th to Sunday March 1st. Dawn and John Maynard of D and J Fotos
will be running a Coloring and Poster Contest for children from the ages of
three up to the age of twelve.
The Coloring Contest will see children from the age of three to
seven competing to see who has the best coloring talents in each age group.
Meanwhile the Poster Contest will be held for children from the age of eight
to twelve to see who has created the best poster in each age group.
Each age bracket will be judged individually and everyone who
enters will receive a prize. The winner of each age bracket will receive a
special winners’ bag full of surprises ranging from candy to racing related
items. All age groups will be sponsored by local racing teams.
“It’s always a pleasure to have Dawn and John involved with the
show as they both do a great job with the Coloring and Poster Contest“
stated Show Manager Robin Oltz of NEARA Promotions.“ The best part of the
entire deal is that all that we at NEARA Promotions have to do is provide
the space for the contest. Dawn and John do all the rest and that takes such
a load off of our shoulders.“

This past week entry forms for the show were mailed out to entrants
who were in the show last year. Two time and defending Whelen All American
Series New York State NASCAR Champion Tony Hanbury who won Asphalt Best of
Show last year has already stated that he will have his cars on display.
Anyone who enters the show will receive one free admission to the
Country Town Auto Service Awards Party that will take place on Saturday
night February 28th. Tickets for the Awards Party will be on sale at the
Southern Tier Speedworld booth at the show.
Dave and Joanne Rocket who are promoting the Afton Motor Speedway
this year have already contacted NEARA Promotions and have indicated they
will be in the show this year. It is anticipated that all area race tracks
will be on hand handing out their 2009 racing schedules.
“Like I have said the past five years and I’ll say it again this
year. Don’t wait until the last minute to decide to enter your car“ stated
Robin Oltz. “There is only so much room inside the Oakdale Mall and with the
record crowds we attract each year, we need to leave enough room for people
to walk around safely. That is why NEARA Promotions is setting a deadline of
February 20th for entries. This is the first time that we had to set a
deadline but the interest and popularity of Southern Tier Speedworld is
gaining each passing year.“
Once again the 6th Annual Southern Tier Speedworld presented by
Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet and Country Town Auto Service is a free racecar
show that takes place during normal Oakdale Mall business hours from Friday
February 27th to Sunday March 1st.
