RACE CAR & TRADE SHOW
OPENS ON FRIDAY AT THE ATLANTIC CITY CONVENTION CENTER |
Thousands of people are expected to fill the aisles of the 24th annual
Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show, 2009 edition, at the plush Atlantic City,
NJ Convention Center on Friday, January 16th and Saturday, January 17th.
The show, offering just about everything imaginable in motorsports,
will fill close to 250,000 square feet of the Convention Center. Close to
200 motorsports vehicles will be on display and more than 300 exhibit areas
will offer products and services for racers, collectibles for fans, racing
schedules for racers and fans plus so much more.
NASCAR Sprint Cup superstars Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Dave
Blaney will be signing autographs during the weekend. NASCAR Camping World
Truck Series champion Johnny Benson will be there to meet fans and sign
autographs along with fellow competitor David Starr.
Nitro Fish Racing’s Pro Stock Motorcycle racers Matt Smith and
Angie McBride will be visiting with their many fans and NHRA Pro Stock racer
Kenny Koretsky will sign autographs. NHRA Top Fuel Dragster driver Antron
Brown, a former New Jersey resident, will also be at the show.
Just announced is the appearance of long time NASCAR Sprint Cup
crew chief and car owner Ray Evernham who just recently purchased a dirt
race track in the Carolinas and is a motorsports analyst with ESPN-TV. The
former crew chief to four time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon will
kick off his autograph duties at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Evernham will be at
the Trenton Speedway Tribute display which can be seen during the entire
show. The former New Jersey resident competed in the final event ever run at
Trenton in an asphalt modified stock car.
Former Indianapolis car great Wally Dallenbach Sr. and NASCAR
Sprint Car racer James Hylton will anchor a Trenton Speedway Reunion
Autograph Session on Saturday at 12 noon.
Former sprint car racer and now TV broadcaster Brad Doty has been
added to the already impressive lineup of racers and personalities
participating in autograph sessions. Doty will be found at the Coastal 181
booth signing copies of “Win It or Wear It - All-Time Great Sprint Car
Tales”.
Other highlights of the two day show will be autograph sessions
with many of the local and regional racing stars and personalities. In
addition Pioneer Pole Building will have Philadelphia Eagle cheerleaders
appearing in their booth along with former NFL great Harold Carmichael.
The RAACE Foundation (Race Against Children Everywhere) is back at
the show and they have a variety of well known racers signing autographs
from time-to-time in their booth. For the second year, The Memorabilia
Auction held by Checkered Flag Charities will benefit The RAACE Foundation.
One big change for the auction is the “Buy It Now” pricing on the items.
There are many chance of a lifetime items included in the auction.
Of course there will be the huge U.S. Tobacco Ms. Motorsports
Pageant, Big Wheel Racing for the kids and a dozen or so FREE seminars for
attendees to attend FREE of charge.
After spending the day at Motorsports 2009 fans can head over to
the Boardwalk Hall, just a short distance away, and witness two spectacular
nights of indoor auto racing action. The Gambler’s Classic events get
started each evening at 7:30 p.m.
