Thousands of people are expected to fill the aisles of the 24th annual Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show, 2009 edition, at the plush Atlantic City, NJ Convention Center on Friday, January 16th and Saturday, January 17th.
The show, offering just about everything imaginable in motorsports, will fill close to 250,000 square feet of the Convention Center. Close to 200 motorsports vehicles will be on display and more than 300 exhibit areas will offer products and services for racers, collectibles for fans, racing schedules for racers and fans plus so much more.
NASCAR Sprint Cup superstars Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Dave Blaney will be signing autographs during the weekend. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Johnny Benson will be there to meet fans and sign autographs along with fellow competitor David Starr.
Nitro Fish Racing’s Pro Stock Motorcycle racers Matt Smith and Angie McBride will be visiting with their many fans and NHRA Pro Stock racer Kenny Koretsky will sign autographs. NHRA Top Fuel Dragster driver Antron Brown, a former New Jersey resident, will also be at the show.
Just announced is the appearance of long time NASCAR Sprint Cup crew chief and car owner Ray Evernham who just recently purchased a dirt race track in the Carolinas and is a motorsports analyst with ESPN-TV. The former crew chief to four time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jeff Gordon will kick off his autograph duties at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Evernham will be at the Trenton Speedway Tribute display which can be seen during the entire show. The former New Jersey resident competed in the final event ever run at Trenton in an asphalt modified stock car.
Former Indianapolis car great Wally Dallenbach Sr. and NASCAR Sprint Car racer James Hylton will anchor a Trenton Speedway Reunion Autograph Session on Saturday at 12 noon.
Former sprint car racer and now TV broadcaster Brad Doty has been added to the already impressive lineup of racers and personalities participating in autograph sessions. Doty will be found at the Coastal 181 booth signing copies of “Win It or Wear It - All-Time Great Sprint Car Tales”.
Other highlights of the two day show will be autograph sessions with many of the local and regional racing stars and personalities. In addition Pioneer Pole Building will have Philadelphia Eagle cheerleaders appearing in their booth along with former NFL great Harold Carmichael.
The RAACE Foundation (Race Against Children Everywhere) is back at the show and they have a variety of well known racers signing autographs from time-to-time in their booth. For the second year, The Memorabilia Auction held by Checkered Flag Charities will benefit The RAACE Foundation. One big change for the auction is the “Buy It Now” pricing on the items. There are many chance of a lifetime items included in the auction.
Of course there will be the huge U.S. Tobacco Ms. Motorsports Pageant, Big Wheel Racing for the kids and a dozen or so FREE seminars for attendees to attend FREE of charge.
After spending the day at Motorsports 2009 fans can head over to the Boardwalk Hall, just a short distance away, and witness two spectacular nights of indoor auto racing action. The Gambler’s Classic events get started each evening at 7:30 p.m.
