EARLY ENTRY LIST
RELEASED FOR
SOUTHERN TIER SPEEDWORLD |
NEARA Promotions, Inc. the promoters of Southern Tier
Speedworld presented by Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet and Country Town Auto
Service today released an early list of entries into the free admission car
show that takes place at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY from Friday
February 27th to Sunday March 1st.
Im truly amazed at how quick of a response we received on some
of the entries said Show Manager Robin Oltz. The entries were mailed out
at the end of December and we received 20 entries back by the fifth of
January.
Entered as of this time are the Bonneville Salt Flats car of Mike
Stolarcyk, three racing machines from the Roger Batzel / Country Town Auto
Service stable, Glenn Knapp, Jr., Dylan Terry, James Cornell, Matt Roberts,
Tony Hanbury, and Zack Truesdail.
Race tracks entered as of this time are; Afton Motor Speedway, Five
Mile Point Speedway, Penn Can Speedway, I. M. C. A., S. C. C. A., Finger
Lakes Microd Club, Binghamton Harley Owners Group, FAME Racing Sprint Car
Simulator and Slot Car Track, and the Village Train and Hobby Shop.
D and J Fotos are having a Coloring and Poster Contest that is held
all weekend long. Any racing teams interested in sponsoring an age group or
any information on the Contest can contact Dawn Maynard at 570 265 7249

Everyday were receiving additional entries said Oltz. I would like to
remind all racing teams not to delay in entering your car as our space
inside the Oakdale Mall is limited and that is why for the first time ever
for Southern Tier Speedworld. A deadline date to enter your car had to be
set by NEARA Promotions, Inc. and this year it is February 20th.
The past five years of Southern Tier Speedworld has seen record
attendance counts being broken yearly and on Saturday of last year a new all
day single attendance record for the Oakdale Mall was set.
I was certainly amazed after Saturday of last year as I couldnt
believe what I was seeing for attendance numbers said Oakdale Mall Manager
Nancy Phillips. I would have never thought a free racecar show would out
draw the original grand opening of the Oakdale Mall, but it did. What is
even more important is that all of the stores in the Oakdale Mall look
forward to the racecar show because it brings in excellent business for all
of the stores.
With the tight economy anything that is free currently is drawing
interest from everyone. Although our show has always been a free admission
show I just think that this year the show will see even bigger attendance
due to the state of the economy stated Oltz.
The 6th Annual Southern Tier Speedworld presented by Mike Stolarcyk
Chevrolet and Country Town Auto Service takes place at the Oakdale Mall in
Johnson City, NY from Friday February 27th to Sunday March 1st.
