SPENCER SPEEDWAY RELEASES THEIR 2009 SCHEDULE
AND LOWERS ADMISSIONS

Officials at Spencer Speedway recently released their 2009 NASCAR season schedule, marking their 55th year of auto racing.
“We are very excited about the 2009 events. We understand the economy and have taken our fans and racers alike into consideration,” stated promoter John White. “We are lowering our “regular” admission prices from $12 for adults to just $10 for an adult.” He added, “We have also lowered the Senior (62 and over) prices from $10 to just $8 for a regular show.” Currently eleven shows on this year’s schedule are listed as regular events.
A regular show will consist of NASCAR Weekly Modifieds, Street Stocks, Super Sixes and the new Four Cylinder division. Special events will include extra distance events or special featured classes.
Currently five nights are listed as “Specials”. The season starts off, May 22, with a special SST Touring 100 lapper, featuring the cars and stars from the NASCAR Weekly Modifieds. That Tour is scheduled to return to Spencer a second time on August 21.
The Race of Champions have scheduled two Modified events, a 75 lapper on June 19, also featuring the NORA Limited Supermodifieds. The Race of Champions second event is a 100 lapper scheduled for August 14.
The biggest event of the year will be the Whelen Modified Tour coming on Saturday, July 11. This year the race will be 155 laps. The rain date will be the next day, Sunday, July 12. As part of that special the NASCAR WHELEN Modified Drivers will be signing autographs in an on track “Pit Party”.
The season will begin with the annual Test and Tune Night, May 15. Race teams are encouraged to arrive early that night so their paper work can be completed and a full evening of on track testing can take place. Entrants that evening can expect to have the AMB timing and scoring system on line. Those wishing to receive their lap times can do so easily by simply running a transponder on the car.
“Transponders are not mandatory, but may be used to get accurate timing information,” related White.
The 2009 racing season is scheduled to come to a close on Championship night, September 4, 2009, with a regular show.
Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester , NY , along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson . It is Upstate New York’s “ NASCAR Place to Race” each and every Friday throughout the summer.
