SOUTHERN TIER SPEEDWORLD SHATTERS ATTENDANCE RECORDS
Positive Vibes All Weekend Long

The 6th Annual Southern Tier Speedworld presented by Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet and Country Town Auto Service concluded its three day run at the Oakdale Mall this past weekend with more record setting attendance records.
Official attendance numbers were unavailable at press time but according to Oakdale Mall management the attendance numbers from this past weekend surpassed any weekend total in the history of the facility, which is over 25 years old.
Mall officials also indicated that this past weekend attendance easily surpassed the attendance numbers of this past holiday shopping season.
Finally Oakdale Mall officials wanted to say thank you to all of the race teams who had their racing machines displayed in a professional manner.
“I have no words to describe how pleased and happy I am at how well the show went this year and how beautiful all of the racecars were“, stated Show Manager Robin Oltz of NEARA Promotions, Inc. “Yes, it was very tough at times walking around because the show was sold out and the crowd was so big. But it proves that in these times something that is free does very well and I know all of the stores in the Oakdale Mall enjoyed the added business because of the racers. In turn every car and sponsors of those cars are happy too because of the additional exposure they received this weekend.“
This year the toughest job was for the judges in selecting the Best Appearing Awards in each class. Yes it was tough in selecting just one winner but as NEARA Promotions, Inc. mentioned several times. Every car that displayed throughout the weekend was a winner as all cars were professionally displayed.

The Best of Show Award went to the dirt Modified of Tim Votra.
The Best in Class went to; Jimmy Zacharias in the Asphalt Modifieds, James Cornell in the Dirt Modifieds, Brian Decker in the Sportsman, Darl Ellis in the Pure Stocks, Blaine Frederickson in the Microd’s, Justin Petcosky in the Legends Cars, Travis Hayes in the Four Cylinders, Gary Roberts in the IMCA Modifieds, Bruce Evans, Jr. in the Sprint Cars, and Jessy Velez in the Figure 8’s.
The Best Appearing Dirt Car went to Scott Brady.
The Best Appearing Asphalt Car went to Tony Hanbury.
The Best Appearing Asphalt Display went to Shangri – La II / Skyview Drags.
The Best Appearing Dirt Display went to Rich Green.
The Fan Friendly Display went to D & J Fotos who run the Kids Poster and Coloring Contest.
The Leon Andrus “ Are You Kidding Me “ Award went to local racing celebrity Grant Buck, Jr.
The Fan of the Year was presented to Kay Babicek.
The Anna Heath Memorial Award was presented to Bob Gentile.

All of the awards were handed out Saturday evening at Post 80 which was the site of the Country Town Auto Service Awards Party.
NEARA Promotions, Inc. would like to say thank you to everyone who participated in the 6th Annual Southern Tier Speedworld presented by Mike Stolarcyk Chevrolet and Country Town Auto Service. The show was the best one yet as everyone who participated displayed their racing machines in a very professional manner.
