BIG WEEKEND OF RACING ON TAP FOR
THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS DART ASPHALT MODIFIED TOUR

After a very successful opening race to start the 2009 Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour back on Memorial Day Weekend. This weekend the stars of the Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour will have two chances to race with back to back shows taking place in beautiful Western New York.
On Friday June 19th the Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY will host the RoC Tour and the next evening, June 20th the Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Clarence, NY will do the same.
This is the first time in several years that two races in one weekend have been scheduled. RoC management is trying to limit traveling expenses and also encourage more teams than ever to follow the Tour this year. Early indications are proving that the idea is a hit as a banner field of asphalt Modifieds are expected for both shows.
Of course the Spencer Speedway is the home track for veteran Jan Leaty. Jan has won the last two RoC races held at Spencer and is the favorite coming into Friday night. Jan’s son Mike Leaty is following right in his fathers’ footsteps as he knows Spencer like the back of his hand.
Over at the Dunn Tire Raceway Park there are several drivers who race here exclusively that will be tough to beat. Veterans Sege Fidanza and Tom McGrath are two of the tough home track drivers that are always in contention for the win.
These four drivers will be joined by a host of RoC Modified Tour regulars like defending champion Matt Hirschman, Daren Scherer, Rusty Smith, Pete Brittain, TJ Potrzebowski, John Markovic, Billy Putney, Wilbur Hebing, Rick Kluth, Earl Paules, Kyle Ebersole, Jim Storace, Mark Tychoniewicz, and many more.
At Spencer a couple of the weekly NASCAR Modified drivers like Tony Hanbury and Jeff Haman will be joining the field on this night. Finally you can add in a few drivers like Eric Beers, Chuck Hossfeld, Erick Rudolph, and others that will race anytime if there is an open date on their schedule. If all of the impressive driving talent does indeed show up it will be one great weekend of racing in Western New York.
Gate times at Spencer on Friday June 19th sees pit gates opening at four in the afternoon, one hour later sees grandstand gates opening along with hot laps starting at that time and the first heat being green flagged at 7:30 p. m. sharp.
Gate times at Dunn Tire will see the pits open at 2:30 in the afternoon with hot laps starting one hour later. Grandstand gates open at 4:30 in the afternoon with the first heat starting at 6:30 Saturday evening.
