RACE OF
CHAMPIONS DART ASPHALT MODIFIED TOUR
INVADES THE BULL RING THIS FRIDAY NIGHT |
Each time the Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour races at the
Wyoming County International Speedway in Perry, NY, it’s just about
guaranteed that the racing will be exciting. As the third mile asphalt oval
brings the best out in all of the drivers as they race at the track known as
“ Bull Ring Racing at its Finest. “ This Friday July 10th all of the stars
and cars of the Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour will be in
action for a 75 lap feature event.
So far this year on the RoC Dart Asphalt Modified Tour competition
has been very tough with record car counts leading to excellent qualifying
racing which is leading to last lap exciting feature finishes.
Going into this Friday nights show Mike Leaty and defending RoC
champion Matt Hirschman are tied atop the point standings with 103 points
apiece. Erick Rudolph is third only seven points out of first and Jan Leaty
is fourth a mere 11 points out of the lead. Eric Beers is fifth in points
with 88 while former WCIS race winner Rusty Smith is sixth with 85. Earl
Paules is seventh with 79 followed by Daren Scherer in eighth with 78 while
Billy Putney and Jim Storace are tied for ninth with 72. Chuck Hossfeld is
11th with 70 and T. J. Potrzebowski is 12th with 69, Oswego race winner Ted
Christopher is 13th with 60 and former RoC champion Pete Brittain is 14th
with 59 and Brian DeFebo sits in 15th with 58.
Almost all of the top 15 in points are anticipated to be in action
on Friday July 10th. They will be joined by Rick Kluth, Jimmy Zacharias,
Chris Zacharias, Kyle Ebersole, John Markovic, Matt Clemens, and a host of
other drivers.
Gates open at 5 p. m. on Friday July 10th with hot laps at 6:15 and
the first heat getting the green at 7:30. For more information please call
