CHEMUNG 150 WILL NOT BE MADE UP
ON 2009 RoC SCHEDULE |
After rain postponed the first race of the Race of Champions Dart Asphalt
Modified Tour Championship Series on Sunday at the Chemung Speedrome there
was hope that a suitable date could be found to run the race this year.
But unfortunately after looking over many different schedules and
the big season ending races coming up in less than one month RoC and Chemung
Speedrome officials decided to officially cancel the event for the 2009
racing season.
“We looked at plenty of dates to reschedule but each open date that
looked good to both parties (RoC & Chemung) ended up being a conflicted date
for another track and some of the drivers. So everyone decided in the best
interest that the show be canceled for this year “ said RoC Administrative
Director Andrew Harpell.
“RoC and Bob Stapleton at Chemung have already agreed that RoC will
be back at Chemung in 2010 with the opening race of the Championship Series
“ said Harpell.
Focus on the RoC Dart Asphalt Tour now focuses on the opening race
of the Championship Series to be run on Friday August 14th at the Spencer
Speedway. A full show of heats, consi’s, and a 100 lap feature will be run.
