TRUE VALUE MODIFIEDS
HEADLINE JUNE 18th RACE AT THOMPSON |
The True Value Modifieds move to the Thompson International Speedway this
Thursday, June 18th, for the running of the Town Fair Tire 75-lap main
event. The True Value Modified Series has been attracting large fields of
race cars and an impressive, ever-growing fan following. Those fans will be
pleased with the family pricing that Thompson is offering for this very
special event.
The True Value Modified Series has been like a magnet for both
weekly modified competitors and drivers from other touring divisions. In
five years, The True Value Modified Series has grown from an idea by its
founder, Jack Bateman, to one of the most respected and competitive touring
divisions in the entire northeast.
Attracting a mixture of strong young driving talent and experienced
veteran competitors, this much talked about series will take center stage
this week at the biggest track on its 2009 schedule. Many of Thompson
International Speedway’s best known competitors will be among the impressive
roster of racers competing in the Town Fair Tire 75-lap main. Seven-time
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (WMT) champion, Mike Stefanik will be joined by
the current WMT title holder, Ted Christopher. Other WMT competitors like
Charlie Pasteryak, defending True Value champ, Chris Pasteryak, Doug Coby
and Rowin Pennink, will face True Value regulars like Kirk Alexander, Jon
McKennedy, Dwight Jarvis and many more. Thompson veteran Todd Owen claimed
the victory during the 2008 True Value Modified Series race at Thompson and
he is expected to return to try to make it two in a row.
Joining the True Value Modifieds will be Thompson’s Super Six
NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions. The exciting Sunoco Modifieds,
Super Late Models, Thompson Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Sportsman and
Mini Stocks will round out a full night of racing competition. Complete
driver’s rosters and the day’s complete schedule are available on the
Thompson Speedway web page
www.thompsonspeedway.com.
Grandstands will open at 2 PM when on-track practice begins.
Qualifying races are scheduled to start 5:30 PM with the first of seven
feature event races slated for a 6:45 Pm start. Fans are urged to arrive
earlier than normal so that they can secure their favorite seats. Admission
is family priced with adult tickets at only $20.00. Tickets for young fans,
