2009 SPRING SIZZLER IS DIFFERENT FOR TEAM BRE THAN 2008
by Richie Grodski

In 2008’s Spring Sizzler, Ryan Preece, in the Mizzy Construction #3, seemed to have the dominant car, but with a motor blowing at lap 90, it took him out of the race. Well that wasn’t the case this year. Ryan and the BRE team finished with a solid 3rd place while running in the top 3 for more than half of the race.
“The Team gave me a great car, we just needed a little bit more on the long run at the end. I'm sure we will be right there at the next race. We know what we need to do to get the car to get more grip out of the corner. I just gotta thank my crew chief Scott, Car Chief Greg and my whole crew. I also have to thank Big John for helping me and the BRE team with motors this year and Joe for the blue ASI suit he bought for me in the off season, they are great suits and keep you really comfortable in the car," Ryan said. "Ricky, Tyler, Jerry, Rabbit and Mike German, who does our tires, all do a great job and I can't thank them enough. I really have to thank my Mom, Dad and my whole family for really supporting me in everything I do. It was really awesome.”
Ryan qualified 3rd fastest and went on to pick 1st starting position on the redraw. Driving smart and cautious, Preece stayed out of trouble and kept competitive all race long. In the closing laps. no one had anything for Ted Christopher, but with a well set-up car and Ryan's smooth driving, the team finished a well deserved 3rd place close behind #2 Todd Szegedy.
“Whenever I come to Stafford, I feel like its my second home. It's just a feeling you get when you walk through the pit gate. You just get in that comfort zone where you feel that your going to do really well. I hope we race like this every time we come here. My sponsors Mizzy Construction, Logan Steel, Reynolds Auto Wrecking, and F.J Hubeny were all here today and seemed to be really happy with how the race went “, Ryan stated.
It wont be long till Ryan will be back at “home” in the comfort zone when the Tour returns for their next race here at Stafford on May 22, 2009.
