TOUR TYPE MODIFIEDS CONFIRMING FOR WALL STADIUM’S
“TWIN 50’S” ON SATURDAY, MAY 8

Wall Stadium promoter Jim Morton says that he is looking forward to hosting an impressive field of Tour Type Modified stock cars when his third mile paved oval hosts “Twin 50” lap main events for the Modifieds on Saturday night, May 8. Plans call for grandstand seating to open at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon, with qualifying beginning at 5:45 p.m. and feature racing set to start at 6:45 p.m.

“The May 8 twin 50-lap races are going to be a great show,” Morton said. “I am really looking forward to it. We are going to have a great field of quality cars. I have been talking to the drivers personally and every driver that has confirmed thus far has spoken directly to me.

“We have a great list of confirmed drivers right now and there are many more that I have to speak to.”

Tim Arre of Toms River, who will be at the wheel of the Ralph Solhem No. 0, is anxious to get back to the high banks as an illness has kept him from any type of action thus far in 2010. He plans to return to action on May 8. Also confirming his plans for the “Twin 50’s” is Howell’s Jamie Tomaino who will be at the wheel of the Supreme Manufacturing No. 99 and former Wall Modified champ Pete Brittain of Oakhurst in the Ling Racing No. 66.

Others who have confirmed to date include Long Island, NY favorite Tony Ferrante, Jr. in his family owned No. 31, opening night Wall Modified winner Anthony Sesely in his No. 16, Pennsylvania hot shoes Earl Paules in the No. 8 and John Markovic in the No. 95 and Flemington’s Andy Walko in his No. 27. Morton says that he will have more confirmed entries soon.

In addition to the Tour Type Modifieds, the track’s Sportsman, Street Stock and Legend Cars divisions will compete in 25-lap main events, while the Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stocks will race in a 20-lapper. Pit gates will open at 12:30 p.m. on May 8, with a paid practice session set from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. The regular practice session will be up next, while grandstand seating will open at 4:00 p.m. Qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. and main event action is set for 6:45 p.m.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
