CONCORD SPEEDWAY TO HOST OPEN PRACTICE
IN PREPARATION FOR NORTH-SOUTH SHOOTOUT


On Thursday November 4, 2010, Concord Speedway in Concord, NC will be hosting an open practice for all teams scheduled to compete in the 109 U-Pull It Eighth Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South ShootoutTM. Gates open will open at 1PM with practice scheduled from 3PM-9PM.

The anticipated practice rotation will be the Vintage Modifieds, SK-Type Modifieds, USA Modifieds, Tour-Type Modifieds, and the Super Late Models. Vintage divisions are scheduled to practice every hour on the hour. The SK-Type Modifieds will take to the track every hour on the 10’s (3:10, 4:10, 5:10, etc.) USA Modifieds are scheduled every hour on the 20’s. Tour-Type Modifieds will practice every hour on the 30’s, and the CRA Super Series Late Models will be hourly on the 45s. The schedule is subject to change at the race track’s discretion.

All teams are invited and participation is optional. Pit Passes will be $20.00 per person. Grandstand admission is free on practice day.

North-South Shootout officials will be conducting registration and inspection throughout the day. Tour-Type Modified and SK-Type Modified teams participating are encouraged to take advantage of this time on Thursday. The USA Modified and CRA Super Late Model Teams should contact their sanctioning body directly for any additional information regarding registration and inspection.

Now in its eighth year, the North-South Shootout has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious events in short track racing. The stars of both the Northern and Southern Modified racing community duke it out on the high-banks of the Concord Speedway half-mile tri-oval. The format for the eighth annual event will include time trials for the Tour-Type Modifieds, SK-Type Modifieds, CRA Super Series Late Models as well as heat races, and consolation events (if necessary) for all three divisions. The USA Modified Series will make their NSS debut his season; while the ever-popular vintage Modified contingent return as part of the two-day racing extravaganza.
