ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR
THE ANNUAL NORTH-SOUTH SHOOTOUT

The eighth annual 109 U-Pull It John Blewett III Memorial North-South ShootoutTM has taken center stage among the brethren of the short track racing community. With the cars and stars from both the open-wheel and full-fendered ranks preparing for the annual event, the buzz has spread from east to Midwest. Teams scheduled to compete in the North-South Shootout on November 5&6 hail from New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan, and more.

After seven successful years, the North-South Shootout had earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious events in short track racing. Since it’s inception in 2003, owner and promoter Charles Kepley and his team have strived to ensure that the North-South Shootout is the best-of-the-best in short track auto racing.

For the second straight year, the North-South Shootout will feature the best of both worlds as a contingent of Super Late Models, led by the Champion Racing Association (CRA) Super Series, will join the headlining Tour-Type Modifieds. Support divisions will include the SK-Type Modifieds, an equally as competitive and tenacious brand of open-wheel racing, the USA Modifieds, Vintage Modifieds, and Vintage Sportsman.

Fans traveling to the Charlotte, NC, area to watch their local favorites compete on the ultra-fast half-mile tri-oval at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC, have the opportunity to book rooms at discounted rates (while supplies last). C&C Racing Promotions, owners of the North-South Shootout, have worked with the Cabarrus County Chamber and Visitors Bureau to secure room blocks at discounted rates at a number of at local hotels. A complete listing is available on the official event website, northsouthshootout.com.

Advance tickets are currently on sale for the 109 U-Pull It John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout and can be purchased online at northsouthshootout.com or by calling Doreen Tilley at 336.442.4317. The beautiful four-color tickets include the likeness of the SK-Type Modifieds of NASCAR National champion Keith Rocco and Ron Yuhas, Jr. Super Late Model tickets include Ryan Blaney, Jeff Fultz, Scott Hantz, and Johnny VanDoorn. The USA Modifieds, who are making their inaugural visit to the North-South Shootout, are represented on the collectible tickets by Scott Tomasik and Brian Nester.

On Friday, November 5, qualifying will be held for all divisions. Time trials will be run for the Tour-Type Modifieds, Super Late Models, SK-Type Modifieds and the USA Modifieds followed by heat races for all divisions. The 125-lap events for Tour-Type Modifieds and the Super Late Models will highlight the activities on Saturday, November 6. The 50-lap feature for the SK-Type Modifieds and USA Modifieds along with the Vintage divisions will also compete in feature action on Saturday.
