As entries continue to pour into the Wall Stadium speedway office for this weekend’s Turkey Derby XXXVIII, it is becoming obvious that this year’s season-ending event could be the most hotly contested ever. Turkey Derby is a two-day stock car racing spectacular set for this Friday and Saturday (November 25 and 26) during the daylight hours.

Among the latest entries in the Touring Modified division are recent and four-time North-South Shootout winner Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Pa., Woody Pitkat of Stafford, Ct., Jimmy Zacharias of Candor, N.Y., Tommy Farrell of Tinton Falls, Bill Weichert of Chatham and Danny Bohn of Mooresville, N.C.

Newly crowned Wall Stadium Modified champion Anthony Sesely of Matawan is expected to see action this weekend in the Wall Modified main event, as is former champ Chas Okerson of Freehold, Tim Arre of Toms River, Howell’s Ken Woolley, Jr. and lady driver Victoria Bergenty of Plainville, Ct.

The weekend’s action for the Dirt track Modified and Sportsman cars should prove interesting as Canadian dirt racing standout Stewart Friesen will be in the field. Also seen testing their dirt cars at last Saturday’s practice session were Mike Iles of Medford, Jimmy Watts of Woodbridge, Andrew Krause of Holmdel and Dion Naples

Turkey Derby XXXVIII is set for Friday November 25 and Saturday November 26 during the daylight hours. On November 25, practice will start at 8:30 a.m., while qualifying will start at noon and feature racing will begin at 2:00 p.m. On November 26, practice will start at 8:30 a.m., with qualifying set for 11:00 a.m. and feature racing set for 1:00 p.m.

Pit gates will open at 6:30 a.m., with pre-purchased grandstand seating opening at 9:30 a.m. and grandstand seating opening at 10:00 a.m. both days.

Friday main event action will feature the paved Sportsman cars, the dirt Sportsman cars, Late Models, Legend Cars and the Factory Stocks. On Saturday, the Touring Modifieds, Wall Modifieds, dirt Modifieds, TQ Midgets and Street Stocks will all see main event action.
