New
Smyrna Speedway General Manager Terry Roberts announced today that the track
has hired Champion Racing Association Managing Partner Glenn Luckett to
serve as the Race Director for the upcoming 46th Annual World Series of
Asphalt Stock Car Racing. Luckett brings 16 years of experience as a Race
Director with six different racing divisions sanctioned by CRA, including
the CRA Super Series were he has been the Race Director for such prestigious
events as the Winchester 400, All-American 400, Red Bud 300 and SpeedFest.
“We wanted to bring someone in with a lot of experience and who has worked
with racers from all over the country and we feel Glenn provides us with
that,” remarked Roberts. “Glenn has a reputation for being very organized
and is always very fair when calling a race and that’s what we need for the
World Series to be successful.”
“This is a great honor to be asked to serve in this capacity during
SpeedWeeks,” Luckett commented. “I appreciate the opportunity provided to me
by Robert Hart (track owner) and Terry Roberts. I look forward to continuing
to do the things that we do at our other National events, including timely
and fair operations, as well as trying to make everyone feel welcome and
appreciated, regardless of whether they live just down the street from the
track or 1500 miles away.”
