The Chrome Horn - NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour

Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that it will once again partner with the best in tires and wheels to bring racing fans the 21st Annual Town Fair Tire 150 on August 5th. The 21st Annual Town Fair Tire 150 will feature the stars and cars of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as well as Stafford Speedway’s five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing divisions. Last year’s Town Fair Tire 150 saw two former Whelen Modified Tour champions dueling for the victory with 2003 champ Todd Szegedy beating 7-time champ Mike Stefanik to the checkered flag.

“Since we’ve been associated with Stafford Speedway, they do a heck of a job promoting our events and taking care of us as a sponsor,” said Jim Uliano, V.P. of Marketing for Town Fair Tire. “We have been overwhelmed by the level that Stafford goes to in promoting our events. They certainly go above and beyond in promoting our events and getting our name out to the public. We look forward to being part of another exciting Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford Motor Speedway.”

Town Fair Tire’s association with Stafford Motor Speedway began during the 1999 season as an advertiser in the track’s PitStopper Magazine and over the past 12 years has grown to its current status of Whelen Modified Tour presenting sponsor. Town Fair Tire first increased their advertising presence at Stafford by becoming a Billboard Sponsor and eventually they began setting up displays on the midway to showcase their lines of tires and specialty rims. The midway displays led to Town Fair Tire becoming an Event Title Sponsor for the first time in 2007 as they sponsored Town Fair Tire Summer Heat and offered contingency bonuses to the SK Modified® and Late Model feature event winners. Town Fair Tire shifted their title sponsorship to Stafford’s Summer Blast-Off Fireworks program at Stafford for the 2008 season and again offered contingency bonuses to the SK Modified® and Late Model feature winners. The 2009 season saw Town Fair Tire take their title sponsorship to a top-flight level with their Whelen Modified Tour involvement, and Town Fair Tire can still be found in the pages of the Stafford PitStopper Magazine.

“We’re happy to have Town Fair Tire once again associated with one of our premier events,” said Stafford COO/GM Mark Arute. “Town Fair Tire is very well known throughout New England and it’s a great fit to have a tire company linked up with one of our biggest races.”
