CAR NO. 36
AND CAR NO. 51 NASCAR WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR TEAMS PENALIZED
FOR RULES VIOLATIONS AT THOMPSON SPEEDWAY |

NASCAR
announced today the No. 36 and No. 51 teams that
compete in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour have been
penalized as a result of rules violations committed
Sunday, April 10 at Thompson (Conn.) International
Speedway.
The teams were found to be in violation of Sections
12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing);
12-4-I (car, car parts, components and/or equipment
used do not conform to NASCAR rules); and
20D-5.10.1B(2) (altered carburetor boosters) of the
2011 NASCAR rule book. The violations were
discovered during post-race inspection on April 10.
Ted Christopher, driver of car No. 36, has been
penalized with the loss of 50 championship driver
points.
Brad Lafontaine, crew chief of car No. 36, has been
fined $500 and suspended from NASCAR until the fine
is paid.
Eddie Whelen, car owner of car No. 36, has been
penalized with the loss of 50 championship owner
points.
Justin Bonsignore, driver of car No. 51, has been
penalized 50 driver points.
Aaron Clifford, crew chief of car No. 51, has been
fined $500 and suspended from NASCAR until the fine
is paid.
Kenneth Massa, car owner of car No. 51, has been
penalized 50 owner points. |
