$6,000 AWAITS THE WINNER OF THE LIGHTHOUSE MISSION 200
BY BALDWIN AUTOMOTIVE WMT RACE AT RIVERHEAD JULY 30TH
THANKS TO LI MOD MANIAC

The excitement has been building for quite sometime and now that the month of July has arrived it has hit a fevered pitch in anticipation of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour's once a year visit to Barbara and Jim Cromarty's Riverhead Raceway July 30th for the Lighthouse Mission 200 by Baldwin Automotive. This past week noted NASCAR Modified fan Jim Schaefer, aka Long Island Mod Maniac, announced that he has put together from various sources bonus money that will find the winner of the event taking home a handsome $6,000, while each starter among the 28 drivers will earn $300 in tow money. There will also be an additional $500 split among the first three positions, courtesy of Lighthouse Mission.

After putting together a great bonus package for the 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame 100 won by "The Natural" Timmy Solomito in May, Schaefer went right to work on rounding up what basically amounts to individual dyed in the wool NASCAR Modified fans to donate towards the NASCAR WMT race at his home track. Jim had set a higher goal for the winner's share of the race just moments after Rowan Pennink of Huntington Valley, Pa won the Riverhead 200 in 2010, but indeed the $6,000 to win figure is a very healthy one. The winners share finds $2,600 in purse money, $3,100 in bonus money and of course $300 for just making the race, a figure all 28 starters will take home.

The Lighthouse Mission is a mobile food outreach program aimed at restoring lives and is headquartered just east of Baldwin Automotive at 1543 Montauk Highway in Bellport. Tom Baldwin sports the Lighthouse Mission as the official charity of his TBR Racing Team that competes weekly in the famed Sprint Cup Series and Baldwin Automotive twice a month sponsors a breakfast for the local children. For the race, fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to donate to the Lighthouse Mission which will be setting-up a donation bin by the third turn gate and support Tom Baldwin Jr and his effort for this great organization.

It is expected with the regulars from the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and those who call Riverhead Raceway home for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series that some 30 to 35 drivers will attempt to make the Lighthouse Mission 200 by Baldwin Automotive, which again will be a "Flash" race featuring both time trials and qualifying races as a way into the 28-car field.
