LOFTIN LEADS THE
PACK AT CARAWAY
Former Champion
Sets The Pace in Spring Classic 150 Qualifying |

Loftin has always enjoyed racing at Caraway Speedway and he showed another
reason why Saturday during qualifying for the Spring Classic 150.
Loftin won his fifth career NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour pole at the
track during qualifying and drove his No. 23 QMF Metal Solutions/L&R
Transmissions Chevrolet around the .455-mile track with a time of 15.774
seconds (103.842 mph) to claim the top spot.
Defending tour champion Burt Myers piloted his No. 1 Capital
Bank/Patterson’s Hot Dog Chili Ford into the second spot with a quick lap of
15.790 seconds. George Brunnhoelzl III, the 2009 tour champion, was third at
15.806 seconds. L.W. Miller was fourth with Frank Fleming completing the top
five.
Sixth through 10th were Todd Szegedy, Tim Brown, Jason Myers, Andy Seuss,
Jonathan Kievman.
The Spring Classic 150 is scheduled to start at approx. 3 p.m. The NASCAR
Whelen Southern Modified Tour opener will follow Sunday's 200-lap feature
for Caraway's Division I Late Models. |
