LATICRETE ADDS TO VMRS PAYOFF
AT LEE OKTOBERFEST WEEKEND

Laticrete International, of Bethany, Ct, a worldwide innovative leader in the manufacturing of adhesives and waterproofing products, will add additional purse money to this weekends Valenti Modified Racing Series event at Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH.

Laticrete was to sponsor the June race at Lee that was postponed by rain. The company opted to support this weekend’s race. The announcement was made Tuesday.

The ‘Laticrete 100’ race will be contested on Sunday, October 13, as part of the 26th annual ‘Oktoberfest’ at the New Hampshire racetrack.

The VMRS will be competing at the Lee fall program for the ninth straight year.

Laticrete has added a $500 bonus to Sunday’s winner, $300 to the second-place finisher, $250 to third, $200 for fourth, and $150 to the driver that finishes fifth. The top-finishing rookie will receive $200.

The series top-five drivers are all expected entries.

With Rowan Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, PA, leading the point standings by 90 points, the Lee and Thompson, CT, race the week after, are both important to drivers currently ranked second through fifth.

Second-place driver Chris Pasteryak leads Tommy Barrett, last years Oktoberfest winner, by one point, 520 to 519. Local favorite Louie Mechalides leads Richard Savary also by one point for fourth place, 506 to 505.

Les Hinckley, Steven Masse, and Jon McKennedy are all expected this weekend. Rookie of the Year candidates Dana Smith and Dylan Kopec are also expected and will battle for the Laticrete bonus.

20-year old Anthony Nocella, a civil engineering student at Boston’s Wentworth Institute, is expected to compete fresh off his first ever series win at Seekonk Speedway last weekend.

Qualifying races will be run on Saturday, Oct 12, starting at 2:00 PM,
with feature races slated for 12 noon on Sunday. The VMRS races are slated fifth in the running order both days.

Weekend activities also include Haunted Hay Rides on Friday and Saturday nights, Breakfast Buffet on Saturday and Sunday and a Spaghetti Dinner and Dancing on Saturday night in the Checkered Flag Pub.
