ADDS TO VMRS PAYOFF
AT LEE OKTOBERFEST WEEKEND |
Laticrete
International, of Bethany, Ct, a worldwide
innovative leader in the manufacturing of adhesives
and waterproofing products, will add additional
purse money to this weekends Valenti Modified Racing
Series event at Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH.
Laticrete was to sponsor the June race at Lee that
was postponed by rain. The company opted to support
this weekend’s race. The announcement was made
Tuesday.
The ‘Laticrete 100’ race will be contested on
Sunday, October 13, as part of the 26th annual
‘Oktoberfest’ at the New Hampshire racetrack.
The VMRS will be competing at the Lee fall program
for the ninth straight year.
Laticrete has added a $500 bonus to Sunday’s winner,
$300 to the second-place finisher, $250 to third,
$200 for fourth, and $150 to the driver that
finishes fifth. The top-finishing rookie will
receive $200.
The series top-five drivers are all expected
entries.
With Rowan Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, PA,
leading the point standings by 90 points, the Lee
and Thompson, CT, race the week after, are both
important to drivers currently ranked second through
fifth.
Second-place driver Chris Pasteryak leads Tommy
Barrett, last years Oktoberfest winner, by one
point, 520 to 519. Local favorite Louie Mechalides
leads Richard Savary also by one point for fourth
place, 506 to 505.
Les Hinckley, Steven Masse, and Jon McKennedy are
all expected this weekend. Rookie of the Year
candidates Dana Smith and Dylan Kopec are also
expected and will battle for the Laticrete bonus.
20-year old Anthony Nocella, a civil engineering
student at Boston’s Wentworth Institute, is expected
to compete fresh off his first ever series win at
Seekonk Speedway last weekend.
Qualifying races will be run on Saturday, Oct 12,
starting at 2:00 PM,
with feature races slated for 12 noon on Sunday. The
VMRS races are slated fifth in the running order
both days.
Weekend activities also include Haunted Hay Rides on
Friday and Saturday nights, Breakfast Buffet on
Saturday and Sunday and a Spaghetti Dinner and
Dancing on Saturday night in the Checkered Flag Pub. |
