VALENTI
MODIFIED RACING SERIES FINALE
AT THOMPSON SATURDAY |
With
the 2013 Series Championship decided last weekend at
Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH, the Valenti Modified
Racing Series moves to Thompson Speedway, Thompson,
CT, this weekend as the series 10th anniversary
season draws to a close.
For the second year, the famed speedway will host
the series as part of their annual World Series of
Speedway Racing this Saturday night, October 19.
Last season the Saturday night race was well
received by fans and competitors.
The newly crowned champion, Rowan Pennink of
Huntingdon Valley, PA, will seek to win back-to-back
races as he captured the inaugural event a year ago.
Pennink, with the stressors of a championship run
over, is looking forward to the season finale.
Top point men Tommy Barrett, Richard Savary, Louie
Mechalides, and Chris Pasteryak have their own
points chase to settle. With Barrett currently
riding in second, five points separate Savary and
Mechalides for third, with Pasteryak trailing by six
points in fifth.
Other drivers expected to compete in the finale
include, Anthony Nocella, Jon McKennedy, Steven
Masse, Norman Wrenn, Max Zachem, Ted Christopher,
Charlie Pasteryak, and Jeff Rocco.
26-cars are slated to start Saturday’s ‘Valenti Auto
Mall’ 75-lap feature, Qualifying races begin at
3:30pm. |
