ROB FULLER
AND 15-40 CONNECTION TEAM UP
FOR 2013 NASCAR WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR
Aiming To Spread
Message Of Cancer Awareness And Early Detection |
Rob
Fuller and his RFM team will have a new look, new
number and a new mission when they take to the track
in 2013 as 15-40 Connection will be joining his team
as primary sponsor for the NASCAR Whelen Modified
Tour schedule. With his new partnership, Fuller has
left behind his familiar No. 71 in exchange for his
new number, 15, in order to help bring more
awareness and identification to the 15-40
Connection. With the new partnership Fuller's job
becomes more important than ever this season, not
only will he be looking to bring his No. 15 Modified
car to the front of the pack but also to aide in
spreading teen and young adult cancer awareness and
the importance of early detection.
The mission of 15-40 Connection is to empower
individuals with knowledge that will save and
improve lives through early cancer detection. The
incidence of cancer the 15 to 40 age range is
rising. Since 1975, improvements in teen and young
adult cancer survival rates have not kept pace with
improvements in other age groups. Many are unaware
of the subtle ways cancer symptoms can express
themselves at earlier stages. Most people know that
early cancer detection saves and extends lives but
are unaware of the role they play in providing
themselves with this advantage. The 15-40 connection
is empowering individuals with information to create
awareness of what a cancer symptom can look or feel
like, of the importance of both benchmarking your
normal health by getting a physical and of being
honest with your doctor even if you're embarrassed,
and the importance of trusting your instincts and
making sure your doctor takes your concerns
seriously.
"The 15-40 Connection is excited to partner with
Rob," said Jim Coghlin, Sr., Founder & Chief
Volunteer, 15-40 Connection. " I often say, health
is wealth and without it you have nothing. I know it
sounds cliché but it's true. Cancer doesn't care how
old you are so the fact that improvements in teen
and young adult cancer survival rates have been
lagging for almost 40 years is unacceptable. Rob's
efforts to build awareness about this issue and
share knowledge that empowers early cancer detection
will save lives."
Fuller, a longtime staple in the NASCAR ranks,
couldn't be more excited to get their efforts up and
running and will do so when the NASCAR Whelen
Modified Tour takes to Thompson International
Speedway for the first points-awarding race of the
season, the Icebreaker, on April 14th. For Fuller,
there couldn't be a better track to kick-start the
season as the Fuller name is synonymous with winning
at the famed short track. It is not only the track
where he earned his first victory, but also the
place where the entire Fuller family got their start
both racing and winning.
"I am really excited to be partnered with 15-40
Connection this season," said Fuller. "I have to
thank everybody at 15-40 Connection for this
opportunity. This relationship started off as a
friendship and has blossomed into a partnership, and
that just adds to my motivation to help spread the
word about early cancer detection through my RFM
team's efforts both on and off the track. To not
only have a competitive race car out on the track
but more importantly to have the opportunity to help
raise cancer awareness through our partnership is
really an honor. We couldn't be connected to a
better organization, and I look forward to
representing them at the front of the pack this
season." |
