DAVID CALABRESE SETS BOWMAN GRAY STADIUM,
NASCAR SOUTHERN TOUR AND MORE FOR 2015 SCHEDULE

NASCAR Modified stock car driver David Calabrese has set an aggressive auto racing schedule for the 2015 season. Already a regular on the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour the 21-year-old veteran has announced that he will also be competing every Saturday night in NASCAR sanctioned events at the Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C. NASCAR's very first weekly track, Bowman Gray’s famed quarter-mile has hosted auto races on Saturday nights from late April through August since 1949.

Calabrese competed in the May 2 season opening event at Bowman Gray, the Hayes Jewelers 200, and finished an impressive eighth after starting 19th in a field of 22. The great run for his black No. 43 combined with a large crowd helped him to confirm his decision.

“Bowman Gray is a very challenging track,” Calabrese, formerly of Toms River, N.J., said. “On top of that they say that the speedway seats 17,000 fans and every one of those seats seemed to be filled on Saturday night (May 2). The number of fans make it a great stage for our sponsors and those fans are very enthusiastic and that makes it a lot of fun to race there.”

In addition to weekly Bowman Gray Stadium racing on Saturday nights Calabrese plans to continue racing the entire NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour where he stands eighth in championship points after four events. In addition he plans to compete at the New Hampshire International Raceway on September 25 and at the Thompson Motorsports Park on October 18. Both events are a part of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour that competes in the northeastern United States. When not racing his NASCAR Modified stock car Calabrese will compete in the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout for Legend Cars at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in June and July.

Diamondback Towing in Toms River, New Jersey and Goodridge Fluid Transfer Systems in Mooresville, N.C. currently sponsor the Calabrese Motorsports three-car team. Affordable sponsorship packages are still available for the 2015 season.
