MAHONING VALLEY SPEEDWAY OCTOBERFAST 2016 EVENT SCHEDULE

2016 will close out the season of racing at Lehighton’s Mahoning
Valley Speedway on Saturday, October 22. Racing gets underway at
4:00 pm.
This year’s Octoberfast will be headlined by a $5000-to-win 150 lap
Modified main event and $300 to start that features the Ferris
Mowers Race of Champions Modified Series Fueled by Sunoco Tour.
Modified inspection begins at 11:15. Tires sales will start at noon.
At 2:15 at the Race of Champions hauler a Modified only drivers
meeting takes place.
Practice for all classes commences at 2:30. At 4:00 pm the Modifieds
will run a green-white-checker timed hot lap session to establish
heat race lineups. As many as 26 cars will start the race via
consi’s and provisional spots.
A complete competition format for the Modifieds which includes rules
and payout is posted on the Mahoning Valley Speedway website.
Opening ceremonies follow the timed hot lap session and then heats
for all divisions.
Also on the card will be a 60 lap feature for the Late Models, 75
lapper for the Street Stocks, 40 lap run for the Hobby Stocks and
the All Star Slingshots in a yet to be determined distance. The
Street Stock race is the final event in this year’s American Rental
Street Stock Gamblers Series.
The Late Model and Street Stock winners will take home $1500. First
place in the Hobby Stocks nets $500.
On race day pit gates will open at 10:00 am. Pit entrance is $50 per
person. Entry fees are as follows – Modifieds $75, Late Models,
Street Stocks $40 and Hobby Stocks $20.
There will be early paid practice taking place ($25 per car) from
11:00 – 2:00.
Main grandstands open at 1:00 pm. Grandstand admission is $25. There
are no discounts for this event.
All aforementioned scheduled events are subject to change. Rain date
is Sunday, October 23 at 2:00 pm.
This coming Saturday, October 15, the speedway has an open practice
for all teams from noon to 4:00 pm. The cost is $25 per car and $10
per person for the pits. Grandstands are free. The concession stand
will not be open.

The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and
Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the
Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The
66th annual Race of Champions weekend is the second longest
consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the
Indianapolis 500.
